The research and consultation that was undertaken as part of the Consultation Cultural Strategy action plan has enabled the Strategic Cultural Partnership to take its original aims and objectives and refine these into an aim and a set of objectives for this strategy which truly reflect the aspirations of the people of Bolton.

These are:–

“To enhance the quality of life for individuals and the community of Bolton Borough as a whole.”

To achieve this aim, the priorities for action in Bolton have been identified as:

• Making it easier for everyone to take part in activities.
• Listening to what people say about culture and tracking any changes.
• Making it easier to get information.
• Helping people develop and grow through culture.
• Celebrating Bolton and its people.
• Promoting different cultural activities.
• Influencing where and how resources are used.

These priorities form the basis of the action plan contained within the strategy.
